Going full steam ahead into what is set to be another bright year is flourishing Dutch talent, Julian Anthony. His infectious energy as a DJ and producer is spreading like wildfire so it is no surprise that he finds himself sharing his first ever full EP to kick off 2024 on acclaimed Berlin label, X-Kalay. Four enormous cuts spread across the vinyl EP as Anthony teases his animated sound, moving between progressive house textures, with tinges of electro. This is "Full Moon Fever".
First up is the title track. A chugging low end encounter with a twisted spring in its step, laced with dreamy pads and synths before being launched back into the action. "Open Minded" is led by glitchy garage house drums, but crammed with depth and emotion, teased by the ethereal textures and shimmering elements.
On the B side is "Stormy Tuesday", again you are met with crisp and punchy drum patterns conversing in harmony with a killer elastic bassline. Accelerating the dance floor to new heights, with tripped out vocal samples flashing in and out. Not letting up at all is the final track on the EP "Virtual Reality", spaced out funk oozing a serious vibe from the get go, cruising to outer space in fifth gear thanks to some dynamite drums.
Heavyweight sounds from an artist who continues on fine form, perky dance floor action with a specific transcending attitude. Stepping up to the mark with his debut full EP.
